"Carpal tunnel operation - both hands together"

About: Cannock Chase Hospital / Rheumatology

(as the patient),

It has been 10 months since Mr Raine performed surgery to relieve my carpal tunnel on both hands at same time.

He was very reassuring at my assessment about having the surgery on both hands together. My assessment was November and surgery date would come through for February (very fast I thought).

Mr Raine and his team were brilliant throughout the operation, calming and keeping me composed throughout the procedure.

I was released the same day. Having both hands done meant it was a awkward for a couple of days and I needed some assistance from my wife for that period. However on the advice from Mr Raine to use my hands as soon as I felt able to, I did. He assured me this was the best therapy and indeed it was. This helped me to resume playing snooker the day after I had the stitches removed (2 weeks after the operation) and able to swing a golf club the following week.

The scars have healed wonderfully, in fact could barely see them at the post op review 8 weeks after the operation. I have had no issues at all following the operation.

Really grateful to Mr Raine (top man) and his team for the wonderful relief from the discomfort of carpal tunnel syndrome.
