"So kind, caring and empathetic"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Accident and emergency North Devon District Hospital / Medical Assessment Unit North Devon District Hospital / Radiology (X-ray)

(as a service user),

I recently came to have an ultrasound to check whether I had DVT following my knee replacement operation. I had visited A&E  but was unable to have an ultrasound that day and had been given blood thinning tablets in the meantime.

The SDEC staff were extremely welcoming and I had my ultrasound which confirmed my DVT diagnosis.

I saw Paul (Advanced Clinical Practitioner Acute Medicine (MAU). He took all my details regarding the reason for my visit and gave me a really thorough examination. I also saw a consultant called Simon who was excellent.

Paul was so kind, caring and empathetic, explaining everything in easy to understand terms and arranged for further tests. Following on from the results of the tests, he telephoned me to let me know the outcomes and explain everything to me.

He an absolute credit to NDDH and I can't praise him enough.
