"My bowel cancer surgery"

About: Solihull Hospital / Colorectal surgery

(as the patient),

I was recently diagnosed with bowel cancer after a lump was found. I underwent a Colonoscopy which identified it was a 40mm malignant tumor.  Within 3 weeks I had surgery to remove the lump which involved taking a third of my bowel... I've recently (Aug) lost my mom to Alzheimer's so wasn't looking forward to being away from my family, especially as it was just before Christmas.

Well I'm home after spending 8 nights in hospital. I have received the absolute best care ever from the Solihull Hospital staff. I am certain this has helped with my recovery.  When did hospital beds become comfortable? I've had the best sleep during my stay in Solihull Hospital...

Each and every staff member gave me the best care ever, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was very very helpful 100% of my stay....

Bonus, the food was extremely tasty, it tasted as good as it looked, I could have stayed there longer because I was looked so well, I didn't want to leave....

Thank you to all the nurses, doctors and consultants along with all of the hospitality staff for looking after me so well it's gone a long way into aiding my recovery... a million thanks.
