I had been fed liquid food by tube for 7 weeks. The therapy was designed to get me on to solid food by mouth.
The regime was concentrated - an hour each day at lunchtime. In a little over 2 weeks, I progressed from pureed food to choosing from the normal menu - albeit the moist meals.
The tube was removed and led to my discharge.
The dedication of my therapist, Vicky, was instrumental in my progress. Her sometimes bold encouragement was invaluable.
Without that, I'm sure I would have been on a longer lasting care for eating.
