"Excellent care at childrens ED"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Accident & Emergency (Emergency Care)

(as a parent/guardian),

Was advised by 111 to take my daughter to children's ED yesterday after her symptoms worsened. Turns out she has influenza A and this was exacerbating her asthma, causing non-stop coughing. The waiting room was extremely busy, but the reception staff member was lovely, upfront and apologetic about the wait time (sorry I didn't catch her name) and when we finally got seen, the Doctors and nurses were all very good. Big shout out to Dr Ben - he was absolutely amazing with my daughter and us. So kind, funny and knowledgeable, really put my daughter at ease. Also a shout out to nurse Steph who was incredibly helpful and cheery and also great with my daughter.

Overall, after spending 10 hrs in the department, that was clearly incredibly busy, we never felt any stress from the staff. They were all truly amazing and a credit to the NHS.

Dear bobbins88

Thank you for taking the time to leaving feedabck following your attendance at ED with your daughter.

I hope her asthma has improved following her influenza and she was able to enjoy christmas cough free.

There are certainly plenty respiratory illnesses keeping the department busy at this time of year but I am sure the team will be delighted to know that their efforts were recognised. I will pass on your kind words to all.
