"We cannot fault the level of care"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Gynaecology Paediatrics / Paediatric Assessment Unit

(as a service user),

My daughter developed lower left quadrant pain, this was not relieved by painkillers. The GP originally suspected a UTI and prescribed antibiotics. No urinary symptoms were present.

After two days of antibiotics the pain did not subside and continued to get worse. We saw the GP again who suspected an ovarian cyst, the GP spoke urgently to the Gynae team at musgrove. They requested we attend the following day for a scan.

We initially went to the paediatric department who then liaised with the radiology department and gynaecology to facilitate the scan. Once the scan was completed we went back to the Paediatrics department, who then contacted gynae who came to discuss the results. We cannot fault the level of care from both the paediatric teams and gynaecology department. They put my daughter and myself at ease and nothing was too much trouble.

Dear Dancehr75

I wish you a happy New Year and I hope you had a lovely Christmas.

Many thanks for your time in writing about your positive experience of your daughter's care during your time with us. I hope your daughter is now much better.

I am extremely pleased you received the upmost care, reassurance and support from our cross specialty Gynaecology colleagues and our colleagues in Paediatrics. We appreciate such care is very much needed and makes such a difference during the worrisome times when your children become poorly.

We will directly share with the Gynaecology team leads who will pass on your kind feedback to those who looked after your daughter and I have directly shared your feedback with everyone who looked after your daughter in the Children's Unit. I know everyone will be very pleased to hear about your feedback.

Kindest regards

Dr Holly
