"Still no further forward with a supportive solution"

About: Whytemans Brae Hospital / Rheumatology

(as the patient),

Nearly 6 weeks after being dismissed by Rheumatology service yet again I’m still no further forward with a supportive solution outcome discussed.

With yet another referral from my GP to rheumatology department in November because of my worsening symptoms.

Discussion about my symptoms which involve my joints, muscle, skin and blood vessels have taken place within the department without my involvement or input which I would have liked to be apart of as it’s me this is all happening to and just to have been given the opportunity to actually have the clinical lead consultant and the consultant see my worsening symptoms in person rather than in pictures, which I feel is a supportive solution.

The physical and mental toll of being constantly dismissed by different department including dermatology and rheumatology especially when I finally had hope in August after the consultant seeing the Erythromelalgia for themselves which at that time was only affecting my right hand and feet that maybe someone now was listening to the worsening symptoms I have had for about a year that trials of treatment/ medication may have been started to see if they could have improve my symptoms and maybe given me back some quality of life but sadly this never happened.

Dear Skull570,

I am sorry that your situation remains difficult, despite our previous conversations and virtual review of your Rheumatology symptoms by both our consultants. An appointment will be arranged in due course with Dr McLaren.

Please contact me directly if I can do anything further to support you.

Kind regards

Lynne Campbell

Update posted by Skull570 (the patient)

Dear Lynne,

It is a supportive solution that Dr McLaren is going to see me but as my re-referral from my GP isn’t being seen as urgent I could be waiting months to see him especially when I had already waited 4 months for my follow up appointment sending pictures and emails to the other consultant throughout that time of my worsening symptoms only to be dismissed, daily tasks are becoming increasingly more difficult. Nearly a year of first being seen in the rheumatology clinic and I’m still no further forward.
