I have been under the hospital regarding needing injection treatment but due to back log i went for over a year before I was called to attend an appointment.
When I got to see Mr Gupta he asked me why I haven't been in such along time and he said this was not good enough.
Mr Gupta carried out a check and looked at my results and at this time no injection required but had said to me that he told me to call in November if I haven't heard was to call in December and tell them they needed to put a note in front of him with my name and he would make sure I was seen.
I called and was told this was not the procedure and tried to explain that Mr Gupta had requested this.
I was put on to their manager and again explained myself and was told they would speak to him and call me back.
I received a call with a booking in December and had been seen by Mr Gupta and told me he wanted to see me again in two -three months he would send them an email and to call and use his name if I had no response again.
Mr Gupta had shown me care to make me at ease and wanted to make sure I not only got the treatment required but was not missed off the system.
Mr Gupta is an asset to our NHS and I was not shown this care by any doctor in the UK when it came to my eye care.
"an asset to our NHS"
