I was given an appointment for orthopaedics outpatients.
My appointment was for 1st thing mid December 2024.
I confirmed this and took notice of all reminders.
I was travelling by taxi.
I am unable to use public transport.
During my journey I received a phone call cancelling the
appointment.
I was half way to the hospital and had to ask the taxi driver
to return me to my home.
I had made arrangements for someone to collect me after my
appointment.
As they were unable to do so because of the cancelled appointment
I had to ask the taxi driver to turn round and take me home.
This cost me £40. (Forty pounds)
My next appointment will now cost me another £40 (forty pounds.)
I am in my 70’s and can little afford this but obviously I need this appointment.
