"The care I received was exceptional"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Endoscopy

(as a service user),

I attended the Endoscopy Department for a minor procedure. On arrival, I was extremely nervous about the procedure. However, during the whole process, the care I received was exceptional. The nurse in charge of my care, Teresa, ensured I was fully aware of the details of the procedure and explained the more intimate details. 

The team carrying out the procedure were extremely caring, especially during the more uncomfortable parts, keeping me calm and focussed.

Post procedure care was seamless, again thanks to Teresa and the results explained to me. I was discharged quickly and efficiently with the appropriate advice and leaflets.

All in all, the whole experience took less than four hours from leaving to returning home.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to share this lovely feedback about the care provided within the Endoscopy Unit, University Hospital Crosshouse.

I am sorry to hear that you required an admission to hospital for a minor procedure, but glad to know that you found all of our staff to be reassuring, friendly and professional whilst you were under their care. It’s often the attention to small details that make such a big difference in reassuring patients and alleviating any anxieties and this is a lovely example of the patient centred care that we strive to provide.

Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients and it will be my pleasure to share your kind comments with the wider Team in the Unit and with Teresa in particular. I know they will all be delighted to receive this feedback and it will be really encouraging for them to know that you felt so well supported by them.
