"Early Intervention in Psychosis"

About: Specialist Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Services / Worcestershire Early Intervention in Psychosis Service

(as a parent/guardian),

I have experienced some poor behaviour from the NHS and it is not a new thing for practitioners to lie to my face, but this was another level.

The point of the service is to treat people with their first episode of psychosis, so for the psychiatrist to say you don't step in and out of this condition to my face is astounding. If this is their standpoint they really need to change their own website which clearly stated psychosis has episodes.

The social worker stated that people with psychosis aren't violent, when untreated psychosis leads to frustration and acting out in aggression.

People are told to have realistic expectations of the NHS when I believe we pay enough tax to have a million times better. In  my view, there needs to be a second affordable option with private health if people are to be expected to self treat.
