"Cardiac stents"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Interventional Cardiology

(as a relative),

My mother had been having worsening angina and chest pains for a year. After numerous investigations she needed PCI at the jubilee. We got the original appointment in 6 weeks after referral. The procedure suffered complications which we were pre warned about and only one of three stents could be put in. We were advised that we would be put forward for further stents in 4-6 weeks to finish the procedure as she was high risk for MI.

6 weeks have passed and she has been put on the wrong waiting list. There has been no effort to rectify this, we were only informed of the mistake and advised that the waiting list is long.

No further update has ever been given. It's a really worrying thing to know that your mother's like a ticking time bomb and that this could kill her, but there's no effort to give her the treatment in the time frame we were informed she needed. Very very disappointed in the service.

Dear Allym85,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us and we are sorry to hear about the issue that your mother has experienced.

We would like to assist you further with this matter. Can you email feedback@gjnh.scot.nhs.uk with details of your mother's full name, her date of birth and a contact telephone number?

We look forward to hearing from you.
