About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Outpatients Department

(as a carer),

Myself and my wheelchair bound mum with dementia were met outside outpatients by the wonderful, smiling gentleman, Ronnie.

He helped me get her into the chair, checked us in with ease and took her to clinic whilst I went to try get parked.  He then was able to tell me where she was on my return and she was able to tell me of the great craic she had with him.

Thank you to our volunteer Ronnie!

My name is Emma, I am the deputy sister in Outpatients Department.

I would firstly like to thank you for taking the time to inform us of your experience in OPD.

I am so glad it was a pleasant one for both you and your mother. Our volunteers are an invaluable asset to the department and ensure that patients and their families are given optimum care while directing and assisting them to the various clinics.

I will be sure that Ronnie and all the team are aware of your care opinion we appreciate your feedback and it always helps us to ensure that we continue to provide a caring service.

Many thanks for your lovely feedback about our fantastic volunteer Ronnie. I am delighted to hear that your mum's visit to Out Patients, Altnagelvin was a positive experience thanks to Ronnie's support and good humour.
