"He was patient and great, very professional"

About: CGL Birmingham

(as a service user),

The experience and benefits from CGL has been amazing over the last few months due to support worker Adam.

1st negative test for opiates, I listened, however I was rude to him at the start of our first appointment.

He was patient and great, very professional.

Dear cricketqz79

Thank you for reaching out to us about your experiences.

My name is Lydia and I'm responsible for listening and responding to people's feedback.

We understand that when people first come into treatment and support, the pressure of their physical and psychological symptoms can make everything feel overwhelming. And how because of this, it can be more difficult to handle emotions and frustrations. The important thing is that despite whatever you were experiencing, you were willing to stick with us and move forwards.

It was so lovely to read your feedback about Adam. It sounds like he did a brilliant job of helping you through the initial period of your support, and has been a really patient and supportive keyworker since. I will make sure I share your kind words with him, his manager and the rest of the team and I am sure that everyone, especially Adam will appreciate them.

Congratulations on your first negative test for opiates, which I understand will feel like a huge and important milestone in your recovery. I am sure that if you continue to show the determination and commitment you have so far, you will achieve many more negative tests, along with the rest of your goals.

Thank you once again for getting in touch with us, and I wish you all the very best for your future and recovery.

Best wishes,

Lydia
