"Birth and Aftercare"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / Maternity care Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I had an unexpected home birth and was taken to Elgin Dr Grays which was not the original plan. However, from the moment the ambulance came to the moment we left the hospital the next day, we felt we were given 10/10 care. The midwives in ward 3 looked after me and my new family and we couldn’t thank them enough. A special shout out to Denise and Isla who were a huge part of our newborn recovery.

After settling in at home we got in touch with Amanda from infant feeding to assist with our newborn and she was amazing. We considered giving up breastfeeding after just a few days and she managed to turn everything around for us with just a few pieces of advice. She helped us with our first baby too! We couldn’t have gotten through this without this amazing team!

Dear aprilrr63,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. Firstly, huge congratulations on the arrival of your little one, I do hope that you and your new family are all continuing to settle in well and I wish you many happy times in the future. It is great to hear positive stories about the work our wonderful staff provide.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crew directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended and of course your name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Alan
