"The care my sister received"

About: Vale of Leven General Hospital / Medical Assessment Unit (MAU)

(as a relative),

My sister was referred to the assessment unit with a suspected cardiac event and was seen promptly by the nurses and medical staff working there. They carried out various tests, kept her informed and made a plan of care. We were delighted and grateful for the practitioners who supported her.

I would also like to say a very special thank you to the Health Care Support Worker, Rose, who went above and beyond to be kind and caring to my sister. She was friendly, reassuring and skilled in the care she provided which made the whole experience less stressful.

Sometimes the basics can be overlooked like offering a cup of tea especially when the unit is busy, but not in this case. Rose made sure that all the patients were fed and watered- thank you for your kindness, you’re an asset to your team.

Dear Simba1

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. We’re delighted to hear that your sister received prompt and thorough care at the assessment unit during what must have been a worrying time for you both.

It’s heartening to know that the nurses and medical staff kept your sister well informed and developed a clear plan of care. We will ensure that your kind words are shared with the team, as feedback like this makes such a difference.

We’d also like to extend our deepest thanks to you for highlighting the exceptional care provided by Rose, our Health Care Support Worker. It’s wonderful to hear how her kindness, reassurance, and attention to the little things – like a simple cup of tea – helped make the experience less stressful for your sister and others. Rose truly exemplifies the compassionate care we strive for, and we will make sure her outstanding work is recognised.

Thank you again for taking the time to acknowledge the efforts of our team. We wish your sister all the best with her health and recovery.

Kind regards

Kevin
