I just had my second child at Altnagelvin hospital, Derry and the level of post natal care I received was fantastic. Rhiannon the midwife on the nightshift recently, couldn't have done enough for me. I had just had a c section and she was at my bedside constantly throughout the night to change nappies, hand me the baby and check on the baby. She was so kind, so caring and a massive contribution to my speedy recovery.
Dr Mohammed was also on during the day and he was absolutely brilliant. His level of care was exceptional. He listened to any issues I had and was so responsive and kind.
I left the hospital in a much better place than I did after my first child. I did feel however the staff were run off their feet. The care from the midwives although still great, was not of the same level when it was quieter. I think they have more on their plate.
"A massive contribution to my speedy recovery"
