My child was very nervous about getting an endoscopy despite knowing it would be conducted by Peter, who has been treating them for a while.
The team in the Crichton ward were amazing. They arranged a pre-tour of the ward a week beforehand (thank you Leslie-Ann and Vicky) which really helped and then when we visited on the Friday my child met Peter again and the anaesthetist Harry and had a wee room to prepare in and got to play the PS5.
We went together into the theatre which is where my child started to panic about needles but everyone was super helpful and reassuring and before we knew it they were asleep and all done.
After the op, Stacy, Charmaine, Sofie, Leslie-Ann and Vicky all spoiled my child, bringing them toast and jam and juice and an ice pop. Harry and Su Ying dropped by to see how they were and Peter came by too to share the results.
Everyone was so warm and kind and helpful, and I cannot thank them enough, especially given that my child is morbidly afraid of needles.
"Everyone was so warm, kind and helpful"
