Following emergency treatment for dehydration due to Norovirus, I have been recovering at home. I am now drinking and have eaten a tiny amount.
The team made a follow up call to my husband's number and on answering he was greeted by an irritated member of staff telling him they didn't have all day to call and had called earlier. He explained that he had had no other calls and had been working during the day.
It was then that he said my wife is getting better but is asleep now. They demanded we return for repeat bloods, which I understand and want to do, but still do not really feel strong enough to sit on a hard corridor chair to wait for this for an unspecified time feeling in the way and getting hot and dehydrated again in the immense heat there.
The emergency team triaged and treated me in the main department were wonderful and caring people who understood human beings. This follow up call was anything but and the idea of a long hot wait to check bloods is causing me huge anxiety - I am already taking medication for this condition. This part of the service needs review urgently.
