"Cervical smear test"

About: Northwick Park Hospital / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

I had a hysterectomy and removal of my cervix in 2006 and further surgery to remove my remaining ovary in 2008.

Since then I have received annual reminders for a cervical smear test despite countless conversations with the GP.

This is incredibly painful and upsetting for me.

I wanted children. You clearly don’t read the discharge notes

Dear Service User,

Thank you for leaving your feedback and I am sorry this has been the case. I understand this can be a very sensitive and traumatic experience so understand your frustration for these reminders. As you mentioned smear tests are usual done via your GP so their notes should be updated. If you believe it is your Hospital details that are effect these reminders or they need to be changed. Please contact our PALS team who will be able to assist you.

Here are their details - lnwh.nhs.uk/pals

I hope this is able to get fixed soon.

Kind Regards,

Emma Calnan - patient Experience
