"Long wait times"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

Following an episode of Post menopausal bleeding I was referred last month to a specialist clinic. I called referral management to be told wait times were 12 weeks, I find this is unacceptable given that guidelines state I should only wait 2 weeks to have this investigated.

There is a chance that this could be a gynaecological cancer so to wait 12 weeks is very poor indeed.

Thank you for sharing your comments.

I am sorry to hear about the waiting time for your appointment As you will be aware, we are under immense pressure at the moment and our staff are working tirelessly to try and reduce our waiting times. We have implemented some improvements to try and reduce waiting times across our services.

I wonder if you would contact patient affairs to provide more details so that we look into your case.

Please can you email PatientAffairs.Wishaw@lanarkshire,scot.nhs.uk

Kind regards,

Karen Donnelly
