"Motorcycle accident"

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

Involved in a motorcycle and car accident.

Car stopped in front of us, we could either go into the back of the car, or go around the car. We went around the car, the car decided without looking in mirrors to turn into a car park, taking our motorbike out, I came off and lost consciousness, husband stayed with motorbike. We was only travelling at 20 to 25 mph. Thankfully a witness saw the accident, so police told us no further action required from them as it wasn't our fault.

Paramedics checked me out as I had banged my head and lost consciousness.

The service and care I received from chesterfield a&e was fantastic,  especially the head injury doctor. But if my local dr surgery had more training, then I possibly wouldn't of had to go to A&E. The dr in A&E told me what was wrong with me - so why couldn't my Dr's surgery have done that?

I feel that Dr's surgeries sometimes just pass people on to hospitals. This surely is causing such problems for our hospitals.
