Ongoing saga of the care received for the last 3/4 months.
Nurses have a rough job and the carers and cleaners and anyone in the NHS, but, I just don’t feel it justifies the level of care given to the patients that are under their care.
For the last 3 months or so I’ve been visiting my mother-in-law, every day we have been up except a couple of occasions when we have missed a day.
The attitude of the carers has been awful, and again they are busy I get that but it’s horrible seeing someone you love sat there and that’s the environment they are in. The bare minimum seems like a massive ask.
People sat in their beds crying for hours and not asked if they are ok. People sat having urinated and other things all over themselves.
Catheters not changed. Bedding never changed. General hygiene not maintained.
It’s sad but it’s very very poor.
There has been a couple of carers/nurses who have wanted to help but unfortunately the majority have been seriously below the basics I would expect from care givers.
A sad state of affairs. Fear it’s only going to get worse.
