During my pregnancy my mum was going through her own problems so I couldn’t depend on her and my gran lives a bit out from me so as a young mum I didn’t really have a good role model to look up to or ask questions until I got a family nurse.
I couldn’t have went though my pregnancy and early motherhood without my family nurse Annamaria she was always there for me giving me guidance, advice and even make me smile. Whenever my son was unwell I could always turn to her for advice or when I was struggling with his routine she guided me through it helping me get him in to a better one, she also gave me advice on what to feed him how to be healthier and gave me a breast pump while I was breast feeding I can’t even list off everything she’s done for me and my son I’m so thankful for her.
While she comes to visit she plays with my son and is really good with him she brings him out of his shell, sings to him and makes both of us laugh. When my mental health was bad she helped me get a psychologist she’s been a really good shoulder to cry on whenever I’m thinking about the past and feel like I can’t talk to anyone she would come in and I’d be able to just let my guard down and talk about my feelings she’s always been gentle with my feelings and understanding I’ve built a really strong bond with her and I’m so glad I got to meet her and she’s helped me through everything.
She’s kind with a sweet soul and happy go lucky personality she was really friendly with my boyfriend involving him and making him feel included she never judged me and I felt able to talk to her about anything I would 100% recommended any young mums to join the family nurse partner ship as it’s one of the best thing I’ve ever done and you will ever do.
