"A&E visit"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

Attended A&E on my own and was triaged by an ANP. I was clearly terrified and the ANP was dismissive and uncaring in their attitude. Not once did they make eye contact or give me any kind of reassurance.

Thankfully my time with them was short lived and every other member of staff was professional, friendly, caring and courteous from the reception staff, to the HCSW who took blood from me, to all the Nurses, especially Lorraine, and the Consultant, Dr Wallace, who was so kind.

Dear Buddie12,

Thankyou for taking the time to share your feedback with us first of all. I understand that having to visit the ED can be a worrying experience and I'm sorry to hear that you did not feel reassured at first or have a good first impression during your visit. This is not the level of care and service we strive to deliver and I will ensure your feedback is shared and taken on board with our team. I was pleased to hear however that you went on to receive professional and friendly care during the rest of your visit.

I do hope you are feeling better.

Kind regards

Yvonne McDowall

Clinical Service Manager
