(as the patient),

Dropped a concrete slab on my middle finger early November.....very careless.  Self bandaged for overnight, then visited local pharmacy next morning - helpful as always - advised stitch needed.

Phoned Minor Injuries Unit at Dunfermline Queen Margaret Hospital - quickly answered and advised to attend straight away.  Drove there and was seen more or less straight away by emergency nurse practitioner, Lyndsey.  X-ray taken by Sara, bone fracture. Lyndsey applied steri-strips, dressed finger, gave me a course of antibiotics and instructions for care.

Finger nearly recovered four weeks on.  Couldn't have asked for a better service - including dressings changed at Loch Leven Health Centre by the nurses of Community Care & Treatment Service - Audrey, Marie and Hannah.

Only negative - nothing to do with the local team - is that Queen Margaret Hospital (NHS Fife) was unable to access my health records (NHS Tayside).  A problem I have encountered before - NHS Golden Jubilee Hospital couldn't access my records either. Difficult to understand why they don't all use the same system!!

Hello Handson24,

Please accept my thanks for taking the time to provide feedback for the Community Care and Treatment Service in Kinross and in particular naming the nurses involved in your care. It is very pleasing to hear the good experience you have had across 2 different boards and this feedback will be shared widely with the nurses involved and our managers.

In relation to accessing patient notes across 2 different boards this is a known difficulty in the IT systems which often causes problems in continuity of care. I will ensure I highlight this to the relevant team who can investigate whether a change is possible as it would benefit patient care all round.
