"They were absolutely fantastic"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

After a recent fall where I broke my ankle  I had to undergo surgery to fix my ankle. Prior to my surgery the team was brilliant keeping me informed of what was required, etc.

On the day of admission, the team was great from greeting and registering,  through admissions,  pre-op, the operation itself, the post operative care and the discharge. I cannot thank the team enough. They were absolutely fantastic.  Empathy was shown throughout.  Although it is probably a fairly routine operation for them, they made me feel important and considerate knowing it was routine for me. I felt totally at ease, knowing that I was in good hands. The surgical were busy but still made me feel like an individual and not a number and showed excellent knowledge but explained everything so I could understand.  The nursing team were brilliant 👏

I would really want them to know how good they were and how grateful I am to them.

Dear Happy Ankle, Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience. We really appreciate it here at the RDUH. We are so please to hear you have a happy ankle.

It is wonderful to hear your feedback and we are so pleased that the care and treatment you received whilst you were in hospital was to a high standard and that you felt well looked after.

I will certainly pass on your feedback to the team. Feedback such as yours, helps the team to feel empowered and appreciated. They will be satisfied to know they have done a good job.

I hope you are continuing to recover well.

Thank you again and best wishes,
