"Friendly U&ME group"

About: Adult mental health / Andover CMHT

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I attended the Managing and Understanding emotions group run by Emma Weeks, Katriona Westwood and Matt Flake in Andover CMHT.

I found the group good friendly, some people were a bit quiet, felt that there were people with problems different to mine and it would have been good to share similar experiences

The most helpful part was reflecting on things which was prompted by homework

If I could change something about the group, I would have people who are going through similar experiences which was the reason to reach out for help

I have found the group definitely helpful, made me realize I am already subconsciously using the techniques but I am not in control when and how I use them and some times it happens too late

The facilities were not great but ok. building and toilets is a bit dates. it was a bit weird that drinking water was not available but there were always biscuits :)

flash cards would be good - sth small we could keep as a reminder of the techniques and what they are all about. a pocket version
