(as a parent/guardian),

My near 2 year old son has been unwell recently. He was seen twice at Kirkcaldy urgent care centre this weekend out of hours by two lovely ladies.

Sadly he was very sick and we were referred over to the children’s ward but the staff there were outstanding. A few of the nurses and doctor’s names that have stuck with me are Bethany, Esther and Helen, they made the situation feel less daunting and now thankfully we resting up back at home.

Hello October94,

I am glad your son is home and recuperating after what must have been a worrying time for you all. If you would like, I am happy to feed back to the staff from Urgent Care you were involved with? If you are able to email me your son's name and date of birth I can identify the team involved and let them know he is now home after his spell in hospital.

Both of the practitioners we seen had very caring natures and I’m grateful for all the help/advice and support I was offered in caring for my poorly son.

As a nurse myself we are often criticised and not enough recognition when people go above and beyond. I hope that this reaches the wider team involved in my son’s care. I take the time to thank you all again.

I have followed this up with an email containing my son’s personal information to identify the individuals who cared for us.
