"Lucky to have such a standard of care available"

About: Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT) / Ballymena CMHT

(as a service user),

I just wanted to express my gratitude to the Perinatal Mental Health Team in the NHSCT. When I was referred to the team I felt anxious about so many things but most of all I was scared. Despite being resistant to help, I am so glad for the patience of the team and their warm embrace. Dr Connolly, Dr Lavery and Kerry HV were so knowledgeable and so personable.

I felt involved at every step and they really helped to return some of my confidence and personality. Roisin was an absolute gem and particularly supportive and reassuring. She was there every step of the way whether I was laughing or crying.

Knowing I could reach out at any time without judgement or felling like I was putting the team out really helped me through a very difficult few months. I am certain that without their care, my family would not be as safe and healthy as we all are now.

This is a team no one really wants to need but we are so lucky to have such a standard of care available in the NHSCT. I hope this note goes a small way in showing my thanks, admiration and appreciation of the team as there is no way I could repay them for what they have given me and my family.

Thank-you.
