Having gone to my doctor back in March 2023 regarding stomach problems I was having, My GP refered me to the St. Marks Hospital for an ultrasound scan. The radiographer had problems scanning some of my organs. I then received a phone call asking I could attend an urgent ultrasound scan at Heatherwood hospital. The specialist radiographer found a very large mass, after this scan I received an urgent appointment for an MRI scan at West Berkshire Community Hospital. The MRI scan showed the very large mass was pushing against some of my organs.
After many phoned calls trying to find out who requested my MRI scan I eventually got hold of the MRI radiographer, they gave me a hospital consultant's name who requested the scan. After more phone calls I eventually received a letter advising of my hospital appointment at Townlands Memorial Hospital, Henley On Thames.
I then received a letter advising my hospital appointment had been cancelled and a new appointment had been arranged at the Townlands Momorial Hospital.
Having arrived at the reception desk on the day of my appointment, I was informed that my appointment had been cancelled without giving me any notice and no new appointment had been booked. The receptionist was unable to give a reason why they cancelled both appointments and could not explain why they did not give me a new appointment, My wife and I insisted on a new appointment, which they eventually gave us.
I would like to know why my appointments had been cancelled.
"Hospital appointment cancelled"
