My Husband was admitted to Urology for a Radical Robotic Prostatectomy to treat Prostate Cancer. We had to travel from another region for this as it's not a procedure being carried out in our area at the moment.
All the staff we met at ARI from the staff at the Surgical Admissions Unit to the staff in Ward 209 were brilliant. They made my very nervous Husband feel safe, comfortable and welcome. The Anaesthetist that came to see him pre op (Paul I think. Forgive me if that's wrong) was so very thorough and nice. He made sure My Husband was well informed without making him feel afraid. He took on board my worries and listened and answered any questions we both had.
The Trainee ODP was also very kind and very sensitive by giving us some privacy to say our see you later.
Mr Lam the Consultant Urologist was excellent. Very informative, straightforward and genuinely cared about My Husband. He gave us a huge amount of information to enable us to understand the process from diagnosis, treatment, post op care and planning.
Ward 209 staff were so very kind and professional. As a fellow Health Practitioner from another region I was very very impressed by the Ward, the staff and the overall environment.
"Very impressed by the Ward, the staff and environment"
