While attending the eye department today my father’s hearing aids completely stopped working. My father is disabled and also had just been certified as severely sight impaired so to then have no hearing was horrendous for him. I took him down on the chance that someone might be able to help him and we were met with the kindest, most helpful person ever , Kenny, on audiology reception.
Kenny not only fixed his hearing aids very quickly but also took the time to sit with him for ten minutes to explain what was wrong with them, what he’s done to fix them but also what he suggested was required to improve them long term. My dad , a hearing aid user of 20 plus years learned things he never knew and me being his main carer now know what to ask of his local audiology department. Kenny confirmed he’d update his records and wished my dad well.
Honestly Kenny I wish there were more of you around as the difference you made to my father just taking the time to not only help him there and them but also taking the time to explain things to him made a really difficult morning at the hospital , not being told great news, a whole lot better. I was always going to write in to send thanks but my dad also specifically asked me to do the same.
I hope this message reaches you.
