I just wanted to say firstly I have been struggling with alcohol for about 10 years but I was never as drink dependant as I am now.
There has been nobody as helpful as Inclusion have been. I have found it so useful having my own support worker, Pete, who I see every other week. I also do my group meetings every Friday. They last between an hour to two hours and the two people who hold the meetings are Colin and Simon, and they are absolutely fantastic. It’s generally mostly men, and it doesn’t bother me at all. I feel the group is really useful as it’s not a big group and everyone is very open and honest about their lived experiences. You feel like you are not alone.
I am working on being in detox eventually, the more I reduce the better. The meetings have no pressure, any questions you can talk about and there are no wrong answers. I feel at ease and very comfortable.
They are understanding of my journey, and I cannot fault them, they are brilliant.
I get a lot of support with my self-harming as well, the feeling of support and encouragement is so appreciated. The group leaders are not shy about their experience, and they act as a role model, as they have truly experienced what I am going through. I know I can be open and truthful, and the support is unreal.
It is the best help I have ever received.
"I know I can be open and truthful, the support is unreal"
