"Fingers crossed"

About: Community Services / Orthopaedic Choice

(as the patient),

Its taken many months of severe pain and sleepless nights to get to this point, two injections, physio and limited pain killer supply from the GP. Given the impression that the only next option was a new knee joint which the GP was dead against.

After my visit with  I was left with more hope that there were other alternatives, he knew exactly where to press to maximise the pain, which was helpful to know his diagnosis of a torn mensicus was likely correct. Now referred for MRI to confirm. There is a less severe operation that may cure the problem with a shorter waiting time, so fingers crossed.

The only worrying thing is there are certain criteria that are required if the NHS is to fund it; given that my knee went from zero pain to agony overnight would suggest a sudden injury, hopefully I'll meet the criteria as this condition has left me being able to do none of my hobbies and I can't fullfill my work duties properly. This has also effected my mental health with little hope until now.
