"Successful admission"

I decided to discharge myself from ward 1 recently. I feel I had achieved a great deal during my admission with the help of my team whilst on the ward. I would like to thank everyone who helped me, from my RMO to the domestic staff who were always good for some patter in the mornings. This was my most positive admission I’ve ever had. I truly feel like I got to experience a different side to mental health services, perhaps to some degree healing some of those broken bonds I’ve had with these services and leaving me on a good footing to continue my recovery in the community

I have been accessing mental health services for a number of years now and I have always been lucky enough to be nursed by Lisa, both in ward 1 & 2. I have never had a negative experience with this nurse, she exudes all that should be in a nurse, she truly sees the person in front of her. I have never witnessed her treat a patient with anything other than kindness, compassion, respect, expert clinical knowledge and the list goes on. I would like to sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have ever done for me Lisa. I truly wish you all the best for the future and I hope one day we may cross paths again.
