"Most positive experience from physiotherapist"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Orthopaedics (Wards 10a, 10b, 10c &10d)

(as the patient),

I attended the orthopaedic department at QEUH in Glasgow. This was my second appointment as had recurrence of pain and restricted movement in my shoulder.

I saw physio Karen again, as was advised at my initial appointment that if my symptoms came back again I was to contact her department directly.

As I sat in waiting room I noticed how busy it seemed and some staff looked so disheartened.

Karen then called me in a lovely warm manner. She advised that she wanted to send me for another updated cray to assess for any changes. I went for xray then returned.

The care and treatment I received from Karen was exceptional it really was. She took time to explain to me by drawing my shoulder and what was happening that was causing my pain. She then advised the treatment options, again in detail (despite I’m sure her being busy).

I then decided to get a cortisone injection into arm. Agin so took time to explain where she would be administering the injection. This put me at ease immediately. She was so compassionate and caring as it was a little uncomfortable and felt a little dizzy immediately afterwards.

The care I received was really outstanding.

I can actually move my arm more without pain for the first time in months. Karen is a credit to her department.

Thank you Karen.

I am very grateful for the care I received despite obvious signs of strain I noticed while sitting in waiting room. The staff are doing amazing.
