"Very disappointed in the duty of care"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / General Medicine (Wards 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 18 & 27)

(as a service user),

My mother got transferred to ward 27. Over a week later my mother was still there. Each time I ( her daughter ) came to visit I was getting told all different information. No information seemed to be getting shared between shifts, on at least one occasion my mother's lunch was still waiting untouched as she had to be fed and she was just left. I spoke to the nurse in charge and she was unaware that my mum needed to be fed. While sitting for over an hour, not one nurse came into to check on the the 5 patients in the ward. Very disappointed in the duty of care towards the patients in this room on ward 27.

Dear Sambacz76,

It is very disappointing to hear that this has been your experience within the ward. We always try to ensure the highest standard of care is being delivered to our patients. Please accept my sincere apologise. These issues are very concerning and will most certainly be addressed with the team. We will take your experience and share this to ensure this will be prevented in the future in the care we deliver. I am more than happy to discuss this further should you wish. If so, please feel free to email me at: lisa.mullen2@nhs,scot where I can arrange a convenient time to discuss this.

Thank you again for your feedback, we really appreciate this.

Lisa Mullen
