I first got brought into A&E with severe blood loss. I was told I had a fibroid and offer treatments. I had a biopsy taken. The following week I had another severe bleed which required more transfusions. I was told that my biopsy result would be 2 weeks but it actually took 9, which caused me a lot of difficulty.
Even after everything I went through, my care has been beyond all expectations. As I have been in hospital so long I have gotten to know all of the staff nurses, consultants, Doctors, domestics, students and heath-care support workers . Everyone top to bottom has become a support for me during this difficult time.
The genuine care and dedication to their profession is something to be admired. I hope that they can all be given the credit they deserve. I wish I could name everyone personally to show my gratitude but I would not want to miss anyone out. Thank you to Kim, Susan, Caitlyn and the Lindsay’s (staff nurse) and Mary and Amanda (Healthcare Support), these ladies were with me during some particularly difficult moments. Also to Dr McDonald, Dr Lindsay, Dr Siddiqi, Dr Emma (FY2) and all the surgical team involved. I also wanted to thank Dr Meldrum as well, I think that's her name. She was the first to take serious my fears of it being sinister. Also special thanks to the anaesthetic team Kate and assistant, they were so kind, supportive and helped make a scary situation feel safe for me.
I had such an amazing experience with the staff, they would take time before shifts to come and say hello and check how I was feeling. There were tears from staff when I got my diagnoses. I really felt that they went through it with me and were so genuine. I could never do or say enough to thank everyone. I am so humbled and my faith in humanity is restored.
