I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the treatment of Black patients within ward 46. It has come to my attention, through personal experience and the accounts of others, that there are instances where care needs are ignored for extended periods, as staff appear to prioritise other patients deemed to be of higher importance.
During my time in the ward, I experienced significant delays in receiving necessary care, which I believe was influenced by the colour of my skin. I felt that my needs were not taken seriously, and despite multiple requests for assistance, I was often met with indifference. This lack of attention and care is not only disheartening but also raises serious questions about the equitable treatment of all patients within this facility.
I urge you to investigate these practices and ensure that all patients, regardless of their background, receive the attentive and respectful care they deserve. It is crucial that staff is trained to recognise and address biases that may affect patient care.
