About: North Devon District Hospital / Radiology (X-ray)

(as the patient),

I had a DEXA scan at barnstaple hospital a few days ago.

There was a student there and I was asked if that was ok, I said that's absolutely fine. Everything was explained clearly as to what they will be doing and if it was ok for the student to set the machine up.

The appointment was on time and the student was very gentle. I am very happy how the scan went and how well everything was explained before and during the scan.

I am a Diagnostic Radiographer with many years experience of working, and imaging patients, in all areas of the Radiology department. I am also responsible for the governance in Radiology and so make sure that we are compliant with the many ionising radiation regulations that dictate what we can and can't do in radiology, keep the patients and staff safe and ensure we are practicing safely. I also deal with our policies and procedures and oversee compliments, complaints and quality.
