Attended ENT at Forth Valley Royal Hospital after referral from my GP because of a strange growth in my nose.
I saw 2 consultants who were both very informative and kind. I went into FVRH 2 weeks later for operation. The procedure was carried out by Mr Watson and I would like to sincerely thank him and his team for the care, consideration, kindness and informative way I was constantly kept in the loop.
Also the anaesthetist on the day of the procedure for his banter, care and my Brave Boy sticker - he was great.
I was recalled 2 weeks after that for results. Alas cancer was found at stage 4, quickly referred to consultant at Glasgow Royal infirmary. From my first consultation until I was referred to GRI I have nothing but praise for all the staff I encountered at FVRH.
The speed of my care is still leaving me a little reeling as I am now going at breakneck speed under different consultants in various hospitals to treat the cancer etc.
Too much is said about the NHS in negative terms, we are fortunate to have this service which is beginning to break around the seems a little, but the wonderful staff who work within the NHS are the hero's and keep it running to the best of their ability.
"I was constantly kept in the loop"
