"It was a very interesting programme"

About: Western Health & Social Care Trust / Diabetes Prevention Programme

(as a service user),

The Diabetes prevention programme sessions were done through Zoom for 9 months and were hosted by Carol.

It was a very interesting programme which supplied us with the information we needed to make changes in our lives to reduce the likelihood of going on to develop Type 2 diabetes.

Carol made the goals of increasing physical activity and making dietary changes feel achievable. I have changed my behaviour and I am determined not to slip back into my previous bad habits.

Many thanks to Carol for making the sessions informative and fun.

Dear plusez59

I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience of the Diabetes Prevention Programme (DPP) and engaging with Care Opinion platform.

It makes such a difference when I and the programme receive positive feedback. I am glad you mentioned that the programme was interesting and tailored to your needs, regarding physical activity and indeed making healthier food choices, together with small achievable adjustments that lead to a positive behaviour change. It is so encouraging to learn that you are determine not to slip back into your old habits. Your response highlights, that GOAL’s can be achieved and long term changes made. Thank you for your views, this may well encourage others that have been made aware that they are in pre-diabetic range to engage with DPP.

I am delighted you had a positive quality of care and outcome from your experience with DPP.

Kind regards

Carol
