"Their experience instilled confidence"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - City Campus / Pain Management

(as a carer),

I have breast cancer, I've been very ill. I was taken to city hospital for severe pain control of my cancer as its on the right side of my chest wall and its a large tumour, i thought l was going to die that day.

The staff were very supportive and kind which helped me to calm down, they gave me incentive to fight and be brave, their experience instilled confidence in them all, Drs, Nurses, Support Staff and Domestic staff.

Dear Patient,

Thank you so much for sharing this experience with us. We were really sorry to hear of your recent diagnosis and understand that this must be a really challenging time for you.

It is wonderful to hear that the care and support that you received from our team made you feel braver. I’m so pleased that you feel able to continue on your journey with a renewed confidence and that you feel safe in the capable hands of our staff members.

I will of course share this with the staff in the department to ensure that your feedback is heard. This story may also help other patients experiencing similar symptoms as you, reassuring them that they can be assisted by our staff and leave our care feeling more confident too.

Kind regards,

Kelly - patient experience officer
