About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Anaesthetics and Theatres Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Gynaecology FAU (Ward 43) Maternity care / Ward 46 (post-natal)

(as a service user),

From I went in for my elective section I could not fault the level of care shown to me from I entered the building in Altnagelvin, visibly short staffed but this did not show in level of care I received the midwives in the FAU/ward 46 were nothing shy of amazing, my theatre experience was put slightly on hold til staffing improved where I had my son most positive birthing experience compared to my first birth I just want to say a big thank you to all the midwives at the hospital for a class care, special mention to Rhiannon who looked after me the day I got discharged from morning she worked on paper work so my son and I could get home then arranged for my son to have a bath before we went home I will always remember this so thank you so much to Rhiannon alone exceptional young midwife

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave such wonderful feedback and congratulations on the birth of your new son.

Rhiannon is a very dedicated, caring and kind individual and it comes as no surprise that you picked this up through her care for you and your baby. She will be delighted when she reads this.

We certainly are very busy in maternity at the minute so I am very thankful that you have recognised a high standard of care despite this busy period! Your positive comments are so helpful with staff morale.

Not a problem credit where credit is due all the midwives were just fab but Rhiannon by far stood out she is an absolute credit to the maternity unit and wish her all the best in her career as I’m sure she will excel such a lovely caring girl and thanks again for such a positive birthing experience
