"Impossible to see or speak to a doctor "

About: Churchdown Surgery

For nearly a month, I have been calling the surgery every morning at 8 a.m., requesting a straightforward routine telephone consultation with any doctor to discuss the results of an ultrasound scan. Each time, I am told that appointments cannot be booked more than three months in advance, there are no routine appointments available, and I must continue calling each morning to try to secure one. However, all same-day appointments are fully booked by 8:05 a.m., making this an impossible task.

I have even approached the “results team,” asking if they could simply read the report to me over the phone or send me a copy of the sonographer’s notes. Despite my assurances that I do not require a clinical interpretation—just the basic findings—they have refused, stating they are not qualified to provide this information.

This surgery used to be excellent, but ever since Covid, the situation has deteriorated. Many GPs are now part-time or frequently unavailable, and it has become nearly impossible to book an appointment with anyone.
