"The toilets were out of order"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Neurophysiology

(as a relative),

Ladies toilets within this building have been out of order for a number of days.  Before that only 2 of the toilets usable, 1 having no door.  There is 1 disabled toilet but always a queue for that. Asked staff if any on the ward we were visiting but only staff toilets.

I take visitor with me who has a disability that requires ‘sudden’ urgencies for toilet & sometimes can never get a lift down.  Yesterday, 2 out of 3 lifts working. Day before only 1 lift working which is also used by staff to transport patients so public can’t use.  It is a long way to main building if urgent to use toilet.  This building is a ‘new’ building & not the old one.

Dear Mayje55

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am very sorry for the inconvenience and distress this has caused you and your visitor.

We deeply regret that the ladies' toilets have been out of order for several days, and the lack of a door on one of the usable toilets and for the lifts being out of order. This will be raised with our Facilities and Estates Team, can I just confirm if the building was the Institute of Neurological Sciences, the Neurology Building or the main hospital building.

Thank you

Nicole

Thanks Nicole. It is the Institute of Neurological Sciences. 6 days is a long time to be out of order when only 1 other (disabled) toilet usable for all visitors.

Update posted by mayje55 (a relative)

Hi Nicole,

just an update regarding my post.

Toilets were opened up late Saturday afternoon & open for use all day Sunday.

When visiting Monday morning ladies toilets are once again ‘out of order’.

Once again everyone using Disabled or a quick run up & over to main Ladies toilets.

Can you please report this once again for me.

Sorry, I meant to post this last night.

You would think a plumber could sort this out.

Many thanks
