"My mum had a stroke"

About: Neurosciences (DCN) / Neurosurgery Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

My mum recently had a stroke. Dominick in A&E was amazing with us and explained CT scan in an empathetic way and was very caring.

Ward 130 were welcoming and within minutes of arriving, surgeons explained what was going on and arranged brain surgery for following day.

Nurse Holly in 130 was brilliant with me and mum. Moved to 230 to recover and recuperate. Mum continues to recover thanks to the care of all the staff. Housekeeper is always so cheerful and puts a smile on her face, and the nurse has been outstanding! She truly is a credit to the dept. Getting mum up for a walk and having giggles on the way is just what mum needs.

Overwhelmed with the welcoming atmosphere of all the staff who go above and beyond to ensure patients and families are well informed and cared for. Thank you all so very much ❤️

Thank you for taking the time to feedback such a positive experience about your mum and the staff who looked after her following what I am sure has been a difficult time. I will share this with Dominick who will be pleased to hear this. I hope your mum is doing well.

Kind regards

Ray

Thank you Joseph

Mum would also like to thank Niamh and Elish - these 2 nurses have made her stay in 230 much more bearable. They have shown compassion and care way above our expectations. We honestly cannot thank them enough x
