I did not know I was having a Stroke ,there was no warning and now I know there never is.
The ambulance was there very quick and got me to the Victoria Hospital.
After some time at the VHK I was transferred to Cameron Hospital, Letham Ward Stroke Rehab.
The care in here has been brilliant from start to finish, I cannot criticise any of the staff they all work as a team. At all times they helped me keep my self respect and keep my mood good.
The staff are not afraid to work in Letham and it shows .
The Physio is top notch, Martina is amazing , I’ve called my tripod stick after her. She is is top of the lot.
The Senior Nurse, Shirley, realised I was having a hard time and took me to the café for a latte , that meant a lot to me she is caring and took an interest .
Fiona from occupational therapy is also brilliant, she cares a lot and is very encouraging . Young Courtney is great she will make a wonderful Nurse , she will grow with confidence .
These guys all muck in together and work well with the students too which is nice to see.
I feel the ward would run smoother if there was more equipment for the staff to use .The food isn’t too great and they feed you a lot , not happy I’ve put on so much weight since being in here .
10 weeks I have been in Letham Ward and if it wasn’t for the care and attention In have received I wouldn’t be in this position to go home .
Thank you Letham Ward
