"Cannot thank them enough for looking after me"

About: Western Isles Hospital / High Dependency Unit Western Isles Hospital / Renal services Western Isles Hospital / Respiratory Medicine

(as a service user),

My illness started in February 2024 what I thought was a routine cold and sinusitis which resulted in a hospital stay of 10 weeks.

My stay in hospital involved High Dependancy, ITU, Coronary care, Respiratory ward and Renal ward till an eventual diagnosis was found of an  autoimmune disease.

I cannot thank the Medical and Nursing staff in these department  enough for looking after me till they found out what was wrong and retuning me to my family.

My story is too long for this page and I have summarised it my family also give thanks for looking after me so well.

Dear Lochy80

Thank you very much for getting in touch to tell us of your experience of your stay in Western Isles Hospital.

I am very glad to hear that you have received a diagnosis and that you feel that whilst you were in hospital undergoing tests that you were well looked after by all of the teams involved in your care.

I hope you are now recovering well after your stay with us, and I am sure you are glad to be back home again.
